They made the "donation" so their son would be admitted. This is nothing new. The rich buy loopholes in everything. Someone should take a good look at the Medicaid waivers program, where any income, even in the millions, gets waived in order to receive Medicaid services.

Same happened in a mid sized College Town in Wisconsin were a Family gave a couple million to the College for their name on a Campus School. There by allowing their Grand Children a free Education with out going through the Admittance process.

Again ask the Janitor.

I'll never know why these Hollywood folks put on such a charade instead of just making a big donation which is perfectly legal and nobody asks questions...

for the ultra-rich to donate very large sums of money to get not only their name on a building, but for babysitting their spoiled brats through another 4-6 years of extended adolescence. Often, the building is for the long term benefit of tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of students.

This was done secretly, to benefit corrupt non-revenue sports coaches who envied the big bucks that the football and basketball coaches make for their sports. And Singer (what a name for this canary) is bucking for a Manafort type sentence, after which he can escape the country and live off the bucks he's salted away.
