DU is indeed a supportive community.
(It is hard to believe that someone can have a severe heart attack one day and go home 4 days later!)

(3,629 posts)My father got one of the early stents put in at the hospital where they were invented in the 1990's. Today they are routine, and the big variable is how much damage is done before they get you to the cath lab and fix the blockage. The key is get to help if there is any doubt. The ER would much rather send you home after a thorough checkout for a false alarm than send you to the morgue after you got to them too late, and minutes matter. Glad to hear Jim got to them in time, and I hope not too much damage was done before they got him stented.
