Jeb Bush may just be bitter that Trump beat him in the last election, causing him to feel inadequate and unable to live up to his father and brothers legacy. Or, he just might feel he has nothing more to lose and is desperate for a change. In an interview with David Axelrod, Bush practically begged his fellow Republicans to run against Trump and give the party a chance to redeem itself. He said:
I think someone should run just because Republicans ought to be given a choice. Its hard to beat a sitting President, but to have a conversation about what it is to be a conservative, I think its important.

I cannot see this happening. The right would destroy them.... Unless of course it would lead to a split in the party? A bit like the tiggers in the UK?

(5,499 posts)I really don't want anyone to primary 45. I think that would help get him and his followers tuned up for the general election. Not to mention, beating the sitting president in a primary is next to impossible.
We need to get behind whoever comes out of the primary. And we need to work to get out the vote.

Right now, most republican politicians should keep a very low profile, because most of us don't care what they think. Decades of lying, cheating, corporate cash, and neo-con foreign policy have rendered this party obsolete and useless.
