I understand that's legal under Texas law, but doesn't having two simultaneous campaigns sort of dilute them both down? If he were a shoo-in for US Senator from Texas, it might not have that effect, but I'd say he's got an uphill battle for both races.

And Cornyn isn't as unpopular as Cruz was. Beating Cornyn will take every single thing a Democratic opponent has got, and then a bit more.

OP should have used a beard pic. That how they are trying to differentiate. Julian and Joaquin are brothers one is a congressman (pictured) and the other is Obama's former Labor Secretary.

I really, really thought O'Rourke was going to run against Cornyn, and had a good shot at winning. But Castro is superb and can beat Cornyn too. It's going to be the race to watch. GOTV, Baby!

Even as vp. It will generate a lot of new voters to the polls - if they haven't been purged that is.

He's good, and the Republican "brand" (including Cornyn's voting record) should be thoroughly soiled by the time of the 2020 election, even in deep-red Texas. Really happy to see this.

It feels like we're mounting strong candidates everywhere these days.
Democrats rising to save the country!

Steadily changing the electorate in Texas is more important than bottom line right now. I'm glad there are prominent impressive candidates with Hispanic name and background.

Texas was 44% conservatives and 20% liberals in 2016. I'm hoping it shifts to 40-41% conservatives and 23-24% liberals in 2020. That is a reasonable goal.
