is the number of people who have refused to acknowledge that he was never fit to be president. This is a testament to what Fox News and other right wing media have done to our society. We have masses of people who are conditioned to abandon any critical thinking skills and only react instinctively when it comes to politics. There may be some of it on the left also, but it is different because it comes from such a dark place from the right. What Fox News is pushing is xenophobia and veiled racism. Trump is our first Fox News watching president. What is scary, is that he may not be the last. If the Democrats win big in 2020, I am convinced that they need to start standing up to Fox News; the President needs to take the lead and call them out on their hate.

They're basically junkies and the drugs they're addicted to are racism and greedy, so they will completely overlook the fact that their dealer is a lowlife criminal as long as he delivers the racism and greed. Once he stops delivering it they will have no use for him and treat him like the piece of shit that he is.
This is why Trump can never denounce the lowlife White Supremacist Nazis, if he does they will turn on him.

(50,562 posts)Why are they expecting a man who's paid for several abortions in his time on this earth to ban them?
Dave Starsky
(5,914 posts)Because he's a fucking shameless hypocrite, like every other Republican.
Skippy, Muffin, and their sorority friends will never, EVER want for safe abortions in this country. They will just fly somewhere on a convenient, impromptu Instagram adventure and have that little bit of side business attended to while they post pictures of themselves enjoying drinks with little umbrellas in them.
For the rest of us poor schlubs, it won't be quite so easy. Or pleasant.

(50,562 posts)...he will try to impose a requirement that all women of childbearing age take a pregnancy test before getting on an international flight or crossing the Canada or Mexico borders in ground transport.
I wonder: what would happen if the government created a Bold Compromise: we will ban abortion except in cases of life and health of the mother, but we will task our FBI to create a list of anti-abortion Americans. Any mother can voluntarily place her newborn with a randomly selected person on this list, and the person so selected would be forced to raise the child without government financial assistance. I wouldnt want to do it because babies are not baseball cards, but what would our Abolish Abortion crew do if they were at risk of having to raise a baby they dont want?

(1,756 posts)Conservatives and Republicans are such blind partisan hacks theyd never acknowledge the fact that Trump is unfit to be president theyll blindly support any Republican president no matter how wrong and reprehensible.
Indeed, most on the right likely know Trump is a miserable scumbag, but lack the courage to admit it.

(7,654 posts)ongoing election fraud has tipped the balance to such an extent that we barely recognize ourselves. If we had hand marked, hand counted paper ballots on election day at the precinct level with public oversight, and absentee ballots for special needs only, we wouldn't be where we are today.
There are many other facets of election fraud we need to address such as purges of registered voter rolls, barriers to voter registration, etc. which the rethugs have undermined.

he doesn't lack any.
But he knows how to stoke them with fear and hate. That's his strong suit.

...this is why we need a 'warrior' for our Presidential Candidate not a 'peace-maker'...there is no peace to be made with the Red Hats, their leaders or their media supporters...
...the best we can do is contain the Red Hats, coral their leaders and media supporters then send them back underground from whence they came...given time, we'll then be able to improve the fabric and health of our society...
...this is important; we must find someone to go toe-to-toe with MAGA Man and beat him at his game...if not, there'll be four more year of this living hell to go through...
...hang in there, keep your powder dry and beware of all Red Hats...

(4,402 posts)20% is batshit insane or stupid but the rest of Trump's supporters and "independents" have no excuse.
They either haven't turned the news on for three years or they are so mindblowingly selfish they're happy to give up democracy for slightly lower taxes.
