I missed this one: Kellyanne Conway called the mosque shooter an eco-terrorist

It's a genuinely tough call, but Kellyanne Conway describing the New Zealand mosque shooter as an "eco-terrorist" may be her most audacious, offensive, and appalling lie to date. What an absolute disgrace.

I am aware this person used the term "eco-fascist." Conway knew exactly what she was saying when she offered this as a plausible rationale for why someone who called Trump a "symbol of renewed white identity" murdered 49 Muslims in a mosque.

She's not confused, she's not accidentally misspeaking. She is telling a lie for the purpose of deceiving the American people in the wake of a horrifying event. It is insulting and grotesque.

Via The Washington Examiner (I know it is a right wing source) : Conway said it was important to consider other parts of the manifesto, including a section that said, "the nation with the closest political and social values to my own is the People's Republic of China."

"He is telling you he aligns with China. He's telling you he's not a conservative. He's not a Nazi. He's an eco-terrorist. He is an evil, hateful person who shouldn't be given a platform, frankly," Conway said. "He says I'm not a conservative, I'm not a Nazi, I'm an eco-terrorist, and he certainly absolutely is a ruthless killer."

Via CNN transcripts (rush transcript): ACOSTA: Before the mosque attack, authorities say the killer in New Zealand wrote a long manifesto expressing his anti-Muslim and anti- immigration views, even describing the president as a symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose.

Top White House officials are blasting the notion that the president's rhetoric had anything to do with the violence in New Zealand.

KELLYANNE CONWAY, TRUMP SENIOR ADVISER: He says, I'm not a conservative, I'm not a Nazi. Sounds like he's an eco-terrorist. And he certainly absolutely is ruthless killer. And he's to blame.

5. He called himself an "ecofascist" which was seriously studied as a concept...

The whole thing of fascists needing land, imperialism, blood and soil, that kind of thing.

Very few fascists call themselves ecofascists, and they really only started doing it when it became an academic subject.

But Conway twists it to mean "ecoterrorist", it says more about her than the environmentalists.

when ever they make shit up. Really gotta stop these people from avoiding responsibility of their words and comments. Just ask them what medications they are on.

But it's disturbing to see just how far these RW nutter apologists like her will twist themselves to keep from even the tiniest bit of self reflection about the role their bullshit ideologies have played in stoking hate across the globe. She and her ilk may not have pulled the trigger but people like her and Bannon and Miller and Trump sure went out of their way to popularize their brand of white nationalism and immigrant hate. Despite her husbands excellent tweets, I am of the opinion Kellyanne is a true believer, perhaps a self serving/preserving one, but a true believer nonetheless. Her actions have only gotten more disgusting since 2015 and her time with Cruz. If anyone doubts her "true believer" status, I would strongly urge you to read Woodward's book, because she readily and without hesitation jumped on the Trump train and she and Bannon did probably more than any non-Russian to win that election for Trump.

I hope that I live long enough to see every single one of these trumpsters have to admit how wrong they are. Yes, there are still the Nixon apologists, but they're dying off rather quickly. I certainly hope those that publicly admit allegiance to the current illegal occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, will someday soon realize what a complete and total shitbag of an individual he is.

Of course, that requires brain cells. Maybe I'm hoping for too much...
