following the new Bain bombshell, the Birther BS, and just the growing distaste for this nasty man, I make the following prediction:
The Republicans will use Hurricane Isaac as an excuse to postpone the convention and, when they reconvene, they will have dumped Romney & will have to nominate someone else. The party will experience a level of chaos unseen since the McGovern/Eagleton debacle.
My crystal ball remains foggy when I ask it who that new Hail Mary nominee will be. On the other hand, my Runes are predicting Ryan because he's the freshest face they have, and he has the highest positive national exposure because people know so little about him.

(60,344 posts)I still can't believe the one of the clowns that entered this show last year will be the nominee. I questioned that any of them would be the one in February, March and even into April.

But your prediction is nice. I don't think they are organized enough to pull a coup like that on him. Adelson wouldn't like it. He's counting on Rmoney (read that as buying Rmoney) to change some laws to keep him out of prison.

It would sure be great to watch. However, I would be concerned because their base hates Rmoney so much that they would rally around Mr. Peanut if he were to replace Rmoney. They wouldn't have to have a viable candidate, just a breathing one.
Are you basing your prediction with the new Bain info in mind or even prior to that?

(45,274 posts)If the media grab it--and I think they have to in order to retain any credibility--then I think Romney's campaign will crash & burn by October. More stuff will almost certainly com out from unexpected sources. Too many people know Romney finance details, and some of them have to have grudges. Not to mention ordinary "Anonymous-" type activity.

(15,189 posts)But the GOP ain't that smart. My prediction is they go through with the convention, but skip the debates. Both Ryan and Rmoney will skip the debates. There's too much truth out there about Rmoney and Ryan, so they are going to stick with their ads, and Faux interviews.
They'll give the same excuse about the debates like the taxes. There so much out there for the Dem's to distort and attack Rmoney, and the will have no control in the debates from liberal commentators.

Romney's gonna get a walk on this so long as he promises, retroactively, to never do it again.

Do you think he's gonna emit alpha, beta, or The God Particle?

Ya gotta know more revolting information is gonna surface. It's hard to keep secrets in the Internet Age.
