The report, as it stands right now, doesn't give impeachment a boost. In fact, it hurts the case. So Pelosi's stance on impeachment was and is the smart one.

That's subject to change if the details of the investigation provide more information. Until then, the report weakened the case for impeachment.

Oh, the investigation of subpoena's to comply that will be challenged every time by Trump's AG Barr and go back and forth like a tennis match in the courts until they reach the GOP Supreme Court and be SHUT DOWN by a 5-4 decision.

We are far from that point. To impeach him in the House and then fail in the Senate -- where we would NOT be able to get a 2/3 vote for conviction -- would just empower him.

What we need to do now is get the full Mueller report, hold committee hearings, and continue to gather evidence. (And we can cross our fingers that the SDNY or the State of New York or another court finds something damning.)

And most of all we need to work as hard as we can on the 2020 election.

This situation proves Pelosi is the master of the game. She knew better than to count on a completely scathing report from Mueller and a Trump AG. So she hedged her bets and stuck with what she CAN control. The investigations in the House.

We need to focus our efforts on 2020 and let the House do its job.
