Mueller intended to make case to Congress, believing legislators, and not the DOJ, are 'empowered

Trumpworld Gloats About Mueller: The ‘Fat Lady Has Sung’

Republicans say the report is a slam dunk for the president—while Democrats claim the fight has only just begun.
--snip--
After two years of seeing Mueller’s integrity being impugned by the president and his allies, supporters of the special counsel enjoyed their own told-you-so moment. Robert Litt, who was general counsel for the director of national intelligence when Mueller served as FBI director, called the result a vindication of Mueller and “the rule of law.”

“Mueller and his staff have been unfairly attacked for two years, and by all measures they come up with a thorough and professional report,” he told The Daily Beast. “It’s not a surprise to anyone who knows Bob Mueller. But that point shouldn’t be lost here.”

Editor’s note: This story has been updated to reflect that a source with knowledge of the investigation told The Daily Beast it was their interpretation that “Mueller was making a case to Congress, who (unlike DOJ, in Mueller’s view) is empowered to weigh the lawfulness of a president’s conduct.”

Trump appointed Barr for this, the sole purpose of saving his skin.
I, for one think we should see the whole report from Mueller.

Hasn't been a pundit or journalist who has been right yet. And "sources" have more often been wrong than right.

The Attorney General exalted himself above his paygrade.

Hey, Bill! Deciding the criminality of the president is NOT. YOUR. JOB.

NOT to a lackey of the president!

What is the point of having an investigation of the Executive Branch if that branch is the only one that will see the results?

This needs to be changed - results of an investigation of this sort should go to the Congressional committees that oversee that activity. Sure, the head of the DOJ could get a copy but the AG should NOT be the only one who gets to see it, interpret it, and determine how it is disseminated.

Meanwhile Congress, especially the House of Representatives, should continue their investigations. They should call Mueller and his investigators to testify as to what they found, their conclusions, and how they made decisions as to who to charge. PUBLIC testimony so the American public can see it.

Meanwhile Democrats should concentrate on winning in 2020 - every race at every level should be fought as hard as possible. We need to put out as wide a range of candidates as possible, from the detested "centrists" to the most liberal "democratic socialists" we can find. As Democrats we should welcome ALL views in order to get as many Democrats into office as possible.

for criminal conduct of a President, then the House is exactly where the information should go. They are the "AG" for purposes of the POTUS
