Can someone help me understand why DU'ers are holding up the SDNY as future heroes re: tRump crimes?

As far as I know, SDNY is now under the direction of Bafflin' Billy Barr, which means it is actually under the direction of tRump himself.

With tRump now declared bulletproof by Bafflin' Billy, what's to stop DJT from firing whoever he wants to in the SDNY, and quashing any inconvenient inquiries into his criminal activity?

He fired Preet Bharara right off the bat, and what punishment has he suffered? He knows now that he can fire anyone he wants without impunity.

Yes, dedicated attorneys in the SDNY may step up to the plate every time there's a firing, to continue the good work, but every time it happens there will have to be quite a time lag before all new staffs are in place, informed, and readily familiar with the cases. This could drag on well into tRump's second term God forbid.

I know that the State of New York and the Manhattan District Attorney may well take up cases, but I would posit that that they could not possibly budget enough monies and hire enough staff to fight against the Department of Justice and the United States government, who can simply stonewall forever with a MASSIVE army of lawyers on their payroll.

So if anyone can teach me the powers SDNY would have to combat all of this, I would deeply appreciate it.

Barr said Trump was NOT exonerated from obstruction of justice charges. Let's wait and see what happens in congress. He's no way bullet proof.

it's just not SDNY that have active investigations into trumps crimes. I'm still searching to see if this information I found on OD can be confirmed or debunked. I absolutely believe the "House" list since we have it back. If anyone else can confirm or debunk, please let me know. Thank you.

So far the active list includes:
✅ Southern District of New York
✅ Eastern District of New York
✅ Eastern District of Virginia
✅ United States District of Columbia
✅ NYC District Attorney's Office
✅ New York Attorney General
✅ New Jersey Attorney General
✅ Maryland Attorney General
✅ DC Attorney General
✅ United States Office of Special Counsel
✅ FBI
✅ CIA
✅ House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence
✅ Senate Select Committee on Intelligence
✅ House Judiciary Committee
✅ House Oversight Committee
✅ House Financial Services Committee
✅ House Ways and Means Committee

the reason some of us feel so freaking hopeless.

It is ALL under Barr's jurisdiction. He'll just end the whole thing and declare them all "innocent".

I'm sure he'll be well paid for his service...then again, several of his family members already are.
