(63,221 posts)spend more since my landlord is selling the apartment and I have had a good deal for the last number of years. I am looking at a good 60% of my income on rent, not to mention student loans, bills, etc. I haven't had a raise in years and it just keeps getting worse. Sometimes, I wonder what the point of all of it is.

(146 posts)I also spend most of my income on rent- about 60%. Its distressing and tiring. Like you, smirky, I wonder what the point of it all is at times.

(63,221 posts)Sorry, I don't mean to be such a downer, but the last few days has really had me in a funk. I always feel like I am treading water and it never seems to get better. It would be nice to have a little extra to actually enjoy life every now and then instead of just trying to keep up. It's just exhausting and I thought that with my education and work history I would be in a much better position than I am right now.
Hang in there, eyeofnewt! Hopefully, things will get better for us!
