If Trussia was nothing more than a post-election "sore loser" reaction by Democrats, then why....

....were so many people in the know screaming about Trump's bizarre behavior towards Putin and Russia long before the election?

This is from noted Yale historian Timothy Snyder, author of Bloodlands, On Tyranny and The Road to Unfreedom.

He writes this about Carter Page being appointed to the Trump Campaign:

https://www.nybooks.com/daily/2016/04/19/trumps-putin-fantasy/

From the beginning of his candidacy last summer, Trump has repeatedly claimed that he would “get along very well with Vladimir Putin.” Last fall, after he was interviewed on the same segment of 60 Minutes as Putin, he warmly referred to the experience of being “stablemates” as “going well.” This was strikingly at odds with reality, since Trump was in the US and Putin in Russia during the interviews, and the two men did not in fact meet.

More extraordinary still, Trump has indicated, in his selection last month of Carter Page as a foreign policy adviser, that American policy to Europe will be guided by Russian interests. Page, heretofore known as an adviser to Russia’s state gas company, has been among the prominent Americans spreading Russian propaganda about Ukraine’s revolution in 2014 and the Russian invasion that followed. In his writings he has questioned Ukraine’s status as an independent state, which is precisely the line that Moscow took to justify its invasion. He maintains—preposterously—that Ukraine is like Quebec inside a Russia that is like Canada. Quebec is a province and Ukraine is a country. He has referred to Russia’s annexation of Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula, a signal violation of international law, as the “so-called annexation.”

Snyder wrote this in April 2016.

That was before the election. That was before the Republican Convention or before Trump had even unofficially clinched the Republican nomination via delegate votes. And it was before Carter Page was sent to Moscow in July 2016 while still a part of the Trump campaign.

Trump as a GOP nominee, let alone a President, was very much an uncertainty at the time Snyder wrote this.

And even before then, back in October 2015--before a single primary voter had voted--you had the Washington Examiner, which is complete opposite of a liberal news publication publishing an article titled, "Putin loves Donald Trump". And the article talks about how the leading Kremlin online propagandist Konstantin Rykov had already set up a website in Russia to support Donald Trump.

And seeing this article, what does Donald Trump himself do with it?

He tweets it! With the proud caption, "Russia and the world has (sic) already started to respect us again!"

(Rykov, of course, would later go on to write a post-election confession on Facebook bragging about all his covert efforts to get Trump elected, including use of Cambridge Analytica, Wikileaks and hacked data.)

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I just need an outlet to vent.

There were so many warning signs about this man and his relationship with Russia months and years before the election. I refuse to believe I'm the crazy deluded one here.
