Carneys approval makes Delaware the 13th Democratic-leaning state to join the popular-vote compact, which now has 184 of the 270 electoral college votes needed to elect the president.

(3,344 posts)The law doesn't take affect for any state until all the participating states count for a majority of the electoral college votes.

(25,183 posts)to get the red areas of blue states to the polls. And if the voters in blue areas of red states don't have enough reason to vote already, this isn't going to make a difference.
This whole compact falls apart six months after Trump wins the popular vote in 2020, heaven forbid that should happen.

(1,375 posts)Should be spilt in accordance with how the vote goes in that particular state. You get 60% of the vote then you get 60% of the delegates from that state. It would make every state more competitive and may actually increase voter turnout especially if you live in a state that has a majority in the other party.

(94,598 posts)...DE, like other States that have signed on, are low-hanging fruit. You'll need to find a way for Red and Battleground States to agree as well.
