....Mass Destruction?



Currently, the big five when it comes to making sure they have enough nuclear weapons to ensure we could have an extinction level nuclear event are the United States (at the top of the leader board – well done chaps!), closely followed by Russia, the United Kingdom, France and China. Of course, bringing up at the rear is Israel, India, Pakistan and North Korea. So, the question is if we can have them, why can't anyone else who wants them have them? After all, why should we assume that they will behave any less responsibly than, say, the United States of Trumps America?

In fact, on the face of it, America is the only nation state to ever actually have used the atom bomb. Now some might say the devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were a necessary evil to bring about the end of the war, others would call the whole shocking episode a war crime that has never been acknowledged. After all, to the winners the spoils, and all that. However, it does beg the question, if the only nation state in the world irresponsible enough to actually press the big red button is allowed to have nuclear weapons, and irresponsible enough to give a maniac like Trump the codes to user those fuckers in the 21st Century, should we really stop anyone else having them if that is their ambition?
