tRump continues to pack the courts with ultra-RW judges. Are we OK with that thru 2020?

I'm just asking, because the meme that seems to be developing is that Ds cannot pursue impeachment because our best and only hope to unseat trump is at the ballot box in 2020.

But in the meanwhile, he and Yertle are packing the courts with partisan RW judges - many of them UNQUALIFIED - in LIFETIME appointments that will shape and bend the law in this country for decades to come.

Are we all aware of that? Are we all OK with that?

Perhaps if impeachment was to begin today it might slow down the rate at which these judges are being approved. Perhaps, probably not, considering what little regard Yertle has for the law, the Constitution or time-honored traditions. But isn't it worth considering as part of any strategy to stop or slow what tRump is doing?

I shudder to think what the judiciary will look like by January, 2021.

WE need to own the Senate Judiciary Committee the way we own the House version. That’d be a firewall in the awful (and frankly realistic) chance that The Asset’s Russian friends and GOP crooks help him cheat his way into the winner’s circle again.

That all the bullshit said and spread about her didn’t happen. It wasn’t vetting, it was an incredible amount of misinformation.

Impeachment isn’t going to happen and even if it did , it would be a reality TV shitshow. Trump sucks the oxygen out of the room. He’s good at it. Many thing fly under the radar while we are hearing one inane proposal after another from him., He wouldn’t be removed from the presidency and he would use the process as a weapon.

Unless you know a way of getting four Senators to change party or resign if they have Democratic governors, what choice do we have? Also if Manchin is the 50th vote, how do you think he will vote?

In fact there is absolutely no way we will be able to impeach Trump. Whatever skeletons that might have done the job are buried. The best we can do is whatever information we can obtain to weaken him and the other federal candidates in the 2020 election.

To start impeachment proceedings, especially after the release of the Mueller report, would be a horrible move.

There is absolutely no chance of conviction in the Senate and the process would put a huge burden on our red-state senators.

Trump would scream that the report exonerated him - it didn't.

The nation will recover from the appointed judges.

We need to have one focus -- WINNING ELECTIONS!

Not abolishing the electoral college, not increasing the size of the SCOTUS -- WINNING ELECTIONS!!

When we win elections we get to pass laws, appoint judges, and generally do what is best for America and Americans.

Not having a senate majority doesn't help us. Slowing down the process of getting judges approved? I doubt it with the Senate in control of the repugs...

Best thing to do is as what other posters in this trend have stated...win elections in 2020.

Be it that idiot or Pence. They are going to pack the courts with absolute garbage. People had a chance to prevent this in 2016 but way too many did whatever and that ship is long gone.

We lost the 2016 Presidential election for whatever reason or reasons. Blame Sanders and Sanders’ supporters, Jill Stein, Hillary, whoever. The reality is that Dems don’t pick or confirm judges until at least January 2021. Without control of the Senate, there is little chance that McConnell will agree that no judges should be confirmed during the last year of Trump’s first (and hopefully only) term. We are stuck. Make this an issue for 2020. That’s all we can do.
