It shares a Fiat 500x chassis, built in Italy. Knowing Fiats, I'd expect it to be in the shop a lot. TheBlackAdder Apr 2019 #6

I grew up in Toledo and played at Willy's Park as a kid, adjacent to the Willy's-Overland factory. I drive a 2000 Cherokee. Bought it new. 292k miles. Uses no oil between changes. Original brakes. Long May She Run.

would be to buy a newer used Jeep. I would say replacing it with a 2018 or even a 2015 would be a solution. I'd never buy a new car. They depreciated something like 30% the moment you take them off the lot.

This is likely to be our last vehicle as we tend to keep them to get full use. Our 2005 we had from day one. IT is now 2019 and it still works great---most of the time==but when starts to happen, spouse says it is time to go. WE had planned on like Oct or Nov but have recently decided to do it sooner. We have enough for a substantial down payment plus our trade in.

It is just a matter of the package. We don't care if it is 19 or 18 We just want certain things in it.

as I am closer to 60 and I am the primary driver I figure this is my last vehicle. And I love my Jeep

I kept pushing it off.

I love my current jeep but things are starting to happen and neither one of us are mechanical inclined.

In the last 3 years we have probably put more than 3 grand in it and now the fuel intake/filter / computer something is starting to act up as is the thermometer which could be an easy fix or not such a cheap fix. That right there is enough for the down payment...

so...it is time to say good bye to my Jeep and start looking for new

.

If it's not in Italy, it might be coming from their Brazil plant. I doubt it's from China.

There was talk at one point that Marchionne was thinking about moving some US Jeeps to China.

But that got delayed before he died.

While the Renegade TrailHawk is called "trail ready," there's only so much that platform can be made trail ready.

Also, the smaller New Cherokee seems to be in the shop a lot. I see them being worked on all of the time.

My bro currently has a 2002 Cherokee for trail blazing, a 2010 Hemi Grand Cherokee and a 2014 Hemi Grand Cherokee.

I guess it depends on how you are going to use it.
