at least not until long after we're all dead and gone...let's say there was strong and compelling evidence that votes were flipped in some key districts in some states, along with the general social media campaigns and voter roll manipulation that we know about for sure, but you can't really quite prove it, and anyway if people knew how completely this key, critical aspect of their supposed democratic republic had been corrupted, the only conclusion one could come to is that the whole country is a fucking joke at this point, and our entire system of governance has been upended by a much more clever adversary, who saw the fault lines in our society and expertly struck at them, setting us up for decades of being so divided that we can't possibly make any collective progress, and our global influence is tremendously weakened.

I don't know. I think it's a lot worse than anyone who knows more of the details than we do will ever let on, because they don't want society to fall apart completely.
