(254 posts)justifies the means. I can remember my grandfather telling me this when I was a child. He was born in 1895 and died in 1969 in Mobile, Alabama. He was a great man with a big heart for all things poor and hungry.
The Great Depression era was a tough time to live, work and raise a family. He had a garage and gas station and my grandmother was the Post Master in their town. There were a lot of people passing through town looking for work and many of them were starving. He fed everyone who was hungry and bought, repaired and drove a school bus for the children. He was a SJW. I dont remember him ever saying anything bad about anyone besides Republicans. They werent the ones beside him feeding the hungry or clothing the poor kids in their Southern town. They havent changed much since then either, in fact, theyve gotten much worse.

(6,933 posts)WTF is up with these people? Their name shows up wherever there is an ethical controversy involving duty to law versus personal self-interest.
And always personal self-interest seems to be exactly what the Founding Fathers had in mind, according to them.

(70,581 posts)DHS, FBI say election systems in all 50 states were targeted in 2016
A joint intelligence bulletin (JIB) has been issued by the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Bureau of Investigation to state and local authorities regarding Russian hacking activities during the 2016 presidential election. While the bulletin contains no new technical information, it is the first official report to confirm that the Russian reconnaissance and hacking efforts in advance of the election went well beyond the 21 states confirmed in previous reports.
(Any chance that the Mueller Report covers this?)

BTW example of A.G. Barr trying to run out the clock after being asked if the White House had seen the Mueller Report yet.
And I was willing to discuss the historic information of how the report came to me
(It came from Bob Mueller
. end of story)

History may not repeat, but it sure does rhyme.
*It's Bill Barr (AG), not Bob Barr, easily confused since Bob Barr was a GOP congresscritter during Clinton's impeachment and both Barrs are awful.

Trumps tweets on Rosenstein, on Mueller, on the investigation.. all down the line, start to finish. If Trump manages to stay out of jail, i'd bet money all of these Rightys will be having drinks and laughing together in the not too distant future.

<<Embattled Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein told a Washington audience Sunday that President Donald Trumps words after last years deadly white supremacist march in Charlottesville represented a message of unity that needed to be heard during a divisive period in American history.
Following the murder of a counterprotester by a white nationalist, Trump said, You had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists. You also had some very fine people on both sides.
President Trump recognized last August that no matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws, we all salute the same great flag and we are all made by the same almighty God, Rosenstein said at the Anti-Defamation Leagues annual leadership summit...
Rosenstein said Trumps call for more tolerance after the Charlottesville rally resembled President Abraham Lincolns 1861 inaugural address. In that speech, the 16th president urged unity despite bitter divisions between the North and the South over slavery.
Lincoln insisted his opponents were not enemies, because we were all Americans, Rosenstein said. He concluded his inaugural address by appealing to the better angels of our nature. President Trump echoed that statement with his remarks last summer of we must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty that bring us together as Americans....
When victims are attacked because of their race, religion, gender or sexual orientation, there are laws that empower [the Justice Department] to respond, he said. Enforcing those laws is important to President Trump and Attorney General Sessions.>>

(37,648 posts)I gotta say, though, that I blame Mueller in part, for not being clearer or firmer or doing something that's apparent to the public. Not that I expect him to damage his reputation or do anything unethical. But a lot of what the team did was based on judgment. I'm sure there was something that was soooo close, he could have erred on the side of letting the public know that there's fire in those embers.
But it is what it is. And now we're faced with a coverup.
