I'm predicting there are going to be a lot of people who will see this administration in a new light

after that 12am tax deadline passes tomorrow night.

We usually get a modest refund between state and federal, but instead are having to pay just over $2K to federal. Looks like we may still get something back from the state, maybe enough to offset the bill by about $300 but hubby is still at the dining room table figuring that out.

He's always poo-poo'd my political talk and opinions, not paying a lot of attention figuring it didn't really affect him. Tonight he's not feeling that way. I told him "Well, you knew a lot of people were having to pay, some even paying large sums, when they had received refunds in the past." He said "Yeah, but I didn't know how much we were going to get screwed over." (yes, he's a Republican that votes Democratic).

I would think a lot of Trumpers will be experiencing the same over the next 24 hrs, but they'll probably place the blame on Pres. Obama.

Financial pain freshens your mind... especially if you are not part of the top percent.

Even for the upper middle class financial pain freshens your mind and clears your thinking.

Some, not all, will wake up with a fresh new outlook and have to ask themselves the question, how much hate can I afford.

Just look upon it as the little guy fueling up a 150 foot yacht owned by the 1% so the big shot can cruise up and down the coast while drinking champagne.

You paid for it with your tax increase,... they enjoy it with their lower tax bill,.. you pick up the tab.

It is called trickle up,.. where the rich get more,.. and the not so rich get substantially less.

To do that I had to do the following:

1. My wife had an extra $200 per paycheck withheld. ($5,200)
2. I funded a 401k through my business that took out 30k of income on top of what I would normally fund.

So 35k of income was pulled out of circulation so as NOT to owe taxes.

That being said, my deductions decreased by 15k.

To put this in perspective, 35k was witheld from the economy because I planned on being FUCKED by tRump. My net return, was 2k, (owed state of CA 4k, got 2k back from Fed)

Not a sustainable plan, I am waiting for the Blue States to revolt.

and I did. We are fortunate to be able to do that.

Not too many can afford to have the extra amounts withheld as they depend on every dollar from paycheck to paycheck.

the extra $3000 if it means sticking it to the libs.

Somehow, in their minds, that's how they justify it, and are OK with it.

Oddly, though, they will fly-speck any comment by a Democrat to ferret out some personal insult to be outraged about. This is so even (and perhaps especially) when they're not the ones being talked about.

That included an $80 penalty because I didn’t have enough taken out.

I didn’t touch a thing. Last year I got $200 back, but this years shift to the standard deductions, and no exemptions, just killed me.

This appears to have been planned to give a 2018 election cycle illusion of a GOP tax savings for everyone.

When the real effect of the change would hit when taxes are due in April 2019.

"If only the fuhrer knew!" was the cry of Germans during hitler's third reich. They believed that it was hitler's underlings instigating all the policies that were hurting them and they believed the facts were somehow being hidden from hitler. If only the fuhrer knew he would certainly fix these problems and hold those rogue underlings accountable.

How fucking stupid can people be? Exactly that fucking stupid just like Germans were with hitler and we Americans are with trump.
