I don't know what has happened to Barr now . . .
Something like that. From what I have been reading about Barr, he never had integrity.

(32,641 posts)Let's not blame Jill Wine-Banks for this, or anyone else. Nobody could have known that Bill Barr is in league with Satan. Well some of us suspected, but nobody knew for sure. Like you say Shred, "critical thinking skills - keep 'em sharp"!

(11,738 posts)There is a difference between becoming distrustful and cynical, and using critical thinking skills. One of my professors in undergraduate said something that has stuck with me through out my life.
Funny enough it was in a "pseudo science" Political Science class. He said, "ALL INFORMATION IS BIASED" He wasn't saying that you cannot trust any information but he wanted us to be aware that because information is typically gathered, created, and reported by human beings, that we have to take into account what is being reported and why it is being reported in a certain way. Critical thinking is essential.
The media by and large serves to report and promote the status quo and relies on institutions and tradition to operate so while there are journalists who often report accurately and those who challenge those in power, reporters who continually challenge the dominant discourse are often alienated and their access to those in power is restricted.
We know that Barr has shown a very partisan tendency to the point of dishonesty and outright hostility to the rule of law from his work during Iran-Contra. When people say that he is honorable, they are likely trying to protect their access to those in power.
