Notre Dame -- Paris police chief said the structure will be saved.

Just heard that on MSNBC. They lost the roof but the structure will be saved. That is good news.

800 year old stone walls with flying buttresses on the outside, the loss of the cross bracing
across the top, the stone being subjected to the heat of the fires, and according to a report
many of the stone parts had been replaced with wood over the past 100 years or so.
