Watergate break in occured in June, 1972. Nixon resigned in August, 1974. Two years and two months. Investigations of Trump started before election day in September, 2016. It is now April, 2019. Two years seven months.

That's because our country is going down the tubes. We are so far down, impeachment is useless or even harmful. My assumption is only that we are not so far down the tubes that elections don't matter. If they don't matter then Trumpisn wins, even if we remove him from office.

The Russians et al will go all out to help him and they will know we won't do anything about it.
Trump and the republicans will know that as well.

I would like to see vigorous investigation of Russian help for Trump in 2016 as Mueller outlined, and framed as a way of preventing a repeat in 2020. That could lead to more awareness of what the Russians did and could increase support for impeachment without targetting Trump directly. It's the direct targetting of Trump that's a problem. He thrives by playing the victim, and he thrives even more when people really are out to get him. People are dumb and they fall for it. They shouldn't be, but they are. Read "What is Populism."

It will be the dirtiest, most obnoxious and perhaps violent ever. Steel yourselves. Republicans are not constrained by any sense that they must obey any laws.
