Ken Starr Now Thinks Impeachment Is... Bad?

Like a bad, politically-themed episode of VH1’s Where Are They Now? former special prosecutor Ken Starr is back on Fox News talking about impeachment. But this time, he’s against it?

“For the sake of the country, fulminate, but don’t go forward with impeachment. It’s so bad for the country,” he told host Ed Henry Friday afternoon, adding, “The American people want stability.”

Starr went on to say that President Bill Clinton “had committed crimes, he committed the crimes of perjury and obstruction of justice.” But Trump, he said, has not committed crimes. Which, isn’t exactly true. Trump certainly tried to commit crimes, Mueller concluded, but was thwarted by

In another appearance on Fox News earlier the same day, however, Starr conceded that just like Clinton, Trump instructed witnesses to lie. For example, when Trump told now former White House Counsel Don McGahn that he didn’t tell him to fire the special prosecutor even though he had done just that. “The president went to McGahn and said, ‘I never told you to fire Mueller.’ You said there’s no obstruction, but isn’t that a little bit like coaching a witness?” Henry asked Starr.

Blowjobs bad, especially when a Democrat gets one. Treason good, especially when a Republican does it. - Ken Starr

Why would the founders have put impeachment proceedings in the Constitution?

He is a partisan hack piece of shit. He only thinks impeaching Trump is bad for the country. If a Democratic president had done anything near what Trump did, Starr would be screaming for a trial for treason.

Despite the mountain of evidence of failure compiled by Pepper Hamilton in creating its internal investigation and his own laughably insane defense of his conduct, people forget that the school actually tried to keep Ken Starr employed — by demoting him to law professor — before finally facing reality and severing all ties with Starr to salvage some measure of dignity.

“If we had had (Title IX coordinator) Patty Crawford (who was hired in November ‘14) in place, this all would have been out of our hands and they would have handled it. Art would have survived. We all would have survived. I go back to Sam’s deal; the sensationalism and the lies that he played. He never played. He never set foot in the weight room or the locker room. I’ve said this from the get-go: This was a systematic problem. Baylor never wanted Title IX in the first place.”

High-ranking Baylor officials have said that Starr was fundamentally against Title IX because he felt it was not legal.

Court filing claims Starr and other Baylor leaders helped student accused of sexual misconduct

A motion filed this week in an ongoing federal lawsuit against Baylor University alleges that high-ranking officials – including former president and chancellor Ken Starr – helped a student they knew had been accused of sexual harassment.

The accused student, the motion claims, had a close relationship with Starr and other Baylor leaders, and was employed on campus in a capacity where he oversaw female students and worked on Title IX initiatives.

The motion was filed Tuesday evening by former Democratic state Rep. Jim Dunnam and Houston attorney Chad Dunn, who are representing several anonymous women who have sued Baylor on the grounds that the school has failed to comply with Title IX, the federal statute that bans discrimination against women on campus.

Starr could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday. He was president of the university from 2010 until last year, when he resigned under pressure in the fallout of a scandal over how the university handled allegations of sexual assault among students.
