(3,344 posts)No, I'm not saying I have great sympathy for her, but it is disgusting the Christie isn't going to jail (AND he shows up for book tours on MSNBC!).
Hopefully she has some hard evidence against that now judge.

(2,276 posts)shes guilty, and it seems disingenuous to blame her situation on her gender. Her being female doesnt make her less of a scumbag than the men involved. They should all be held accountable.

(8,929 posts)She wasn't crying any tears while she was playing "Republican" and enjoyed her inclusion in the dirty game of "punishing democrats" with the GOP boys - until she became their scapegoat for the crime. She deserves prison. That's the risk of choosing to dance with the devil.
No tears here - they didn't just create chaos - they caused deaths

(131,106 posts)Kelly, a New Jersey native, grew up in Ramsey and graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy in 1990.[1] She graduated from Mount St. Mary's University in 1994 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science.[2]
She began her government career by working as a legislative aide to Assemblyman David C. Russo, later becoming Russo's chief of staff.[2][3][4] In 2010, Kelly became Director of Legislative Relations under Governor Chris Christie. In April 2013, Christie appointed her to be his Deputy Chief of Staff.
On November 4, 2016, Kelly was convicted for her involvement in the "Bridgegate" affair.[5][6] She was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment on March 29, 2017.

(131,106 posts)and having recently been sentenced to 18 months in prison, she is apparently willing to speak out in public against the christie administration.

(6,101 posts)She had years to come forward with info on Christie and did not do it. She counted on him saving her. She sacrificed her kids for him and now she is whining and blaming everyone but herself.
Yes I would love to see the fat ass Christie in jail for life, but she sure screwed herself. Now she wants to play the victim, oh poor me, I was a woman alone in a sea of men. No Bridget you did this to yourself. You "gleefully" sent emails about the mess that poor Ft. Lee was in. Go to jail and do your time and shut up. If the Supreme Ct. takes this case I will fall over.
And by the way, where is poor little Bridget getting the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to mount this appeal to the Supremes? Tell someone who gives a shit.

(90,793 posts)What was done to Bridget Kelly was vile. What she did was wrong, but the fact that she was set up to take the fall for all these powerful untouchable men who look out for each other, to be publicly humiliated, and go to prison when they got off scot-free, is nothing short of nauseating.

Nauseating is to kind a word for this unequal treatment!

(15,290 posts)She just came off as someone who is headed to 13 months in the federal pen and wants to portray herself as a sympathetic figure.
Maddow pressed her on the "is it wrong for me to smile" email and she expressed no remorse except "I should have worded it better". She basically denied, denied, denied that she had any real part in the plan. According to her she was just an innocent by-stander caught up in the Christie mafia.
Maybe there's something there with the lawyer who contacted her, got some of Kelly's defense information, quit, then ended up on the NJ Supreme Court, but it wasn't really clear exactly what. She seemed to imply there was a quid pro quo, but provided no proof.

Sounds like she played along with the Republican boys and got the shaft. Duh. Good lesson for Trump enablers.
