would be apoplectic tonight, hearing trump and his lying, hateful, delusional rally tonight.
I have talked to my mom, 94, and asked what it was like leading up to WW2, why Americans didn't stand up to the attrocities in Europe by the Nazis. She says that people weren't really aware.
It makes me think, if you listened to him tonight, we are at that moment of time. Not the death of millions but the perpetuation of hate and lies in the lives of 320+ million of us. It is all laid out there. We are aware. We can not rely on one of our great candidates to beat the demon. Purple states are probably already rigged up.
Now is the time to stand up. His crimes are clear as day. If we here won't do it, who will? If our leaders choose to play politics it sickens me and dishonors all like my dad who fought against hate and bigotry so many years ago. Makes me cry that we play the safe card.

(28,340 posts)even bet at least a C-note he's asked at least one person if he could actually do it. I do think he believed the presidency as an institution would bend to his will, that he could do as he wished - that he could COMMAND admiration and votes like the North Korean and Russian dictators.
He is an abomination.

He didn't like to talk about it - but he most assuredly was not ashamed of killing Nazis.
I am PROUD of him for killing Nazis. He discharged his duty at great personal cost in order to give the world an opportunity to be a better place.
I would do the same.

He was very proud of his service to his country even though most of what he went through he took to his grave.
I know I can speak for him when I say he didn't go to Europe and fight to keep us free so we could walk down the road to perdition that German did about 80 years ago.
