1. Incumbents don't always win re-election
Sun Apr 28, 2019, 08:41 AM

It's true that an incumbent President (even one as bad as Chump) does have a statistical advantage at election time. However there are enough times that incumbents didn't win a second term - George Bush 1, Jimmy Carter, Lyndon Johnson (who decided not to run), etc. - that we can take heart.

There is path to beating an incumbent President when the country can plainly see that this person doesn't deserve 4 more years. In Chump's case, he didn't deserve the first 4 years. I believe Democrats, independents, and practical non-crazy conservatives will take a stand against this insanity next year.

BTW I love the Obama face on Mount Rushmore!

3. I cannot believe there is a chance that a President

with about 35% approval rating will be elected...I just cant believe that.....

We have to remember how Trump won and the States that pushed him over the top by a margin of error percentage.

12. I think there are more people supporting him now --

even though the polls may not reflect it.

For example, a co-worker's parents are very happy with the state of their 401K and seem to be willing to overlook everything else. Understandable -- scared when they lost so much during the Madoff/housing/depression time, now feeling safer. I know it began under Obama, but Trump is in office now and it's Trump they're feeling is responsible.

I doubt they're the only two people in the country who feel this way.

And on election night, AS the election results were coming in, we could not believe that there was a chance Trump would win.

I don't feel confident at all, but am heartened by the fine group of candidates we have.

20. When Obama ran in 2008 and again in 2012 dont think Republicans were just sitting back watching

Karl Rove and his team of thieves were out there trying to reverse the order of votes in key states...But the Obama team was just too very efficient and very well organized to stop any attempts of vote reversal or flat out precinct stealing...

So fast forward to 2016..Hillary being the well funded candidate she was was not going to the areas she should have and that was the campaign management team's downfall..they assumed..

And it does indeed speak volumes about the character and intellect of the American electorate.

I don't see how I can hold onto hope or optimism if this vile fascist gets a second term.

The Republicans will probably keep the Senate regardless if Orange Hippo Shit is re-elected...And at the current rate in which The Federalist Society is getting everyone of their extremely radical, Right Wing Conservative Christian judicial nominees confirmed by the Kentucky Turd’s dirty tactics it will alter the next 2-3 decades of court rulings at every level of the federal government.
...If the Orange Hippo Shit is re-elected our judicial system will be FRIGHTENING!!!

I think they have a built in assumption that there is a ruling class who knows better than they do. The mere fact that Despicable Don made it as far as he has gives him so much credibility to them. Benefit of the doubt.

I was over 40 before I went back and finished my college degree, so I know the "before" and "after" outlook on this. Before, I assumed that "they" knew better than me. If the didn't, how would they have gotten where they are, I reasoned.

After, I knew that all of them were just like me. Just people who attained certain positions in life and who might or might not deserve to be listened to. I learned to think for myself! And just because someone knows a particular field well, it doesn't mean they know everything about everything.

I don't think he can legitimately win. But the victory lies with who COUNTS the votes, and that is going to be a problem again unless we do something to stop it. And I don't have a lot of faith that we will be able to stop it.

there are more of us than them. We must overwhelm the ballot box. The Midterms showed us that it can be done.
