Oh crap. I hope when I say this is a wrong choice by Manchin, it will not be seen as slamming a Democrat!!

(58,662 posts)this was reported before. He's from a red state, so he gets tolerated. It's about as progressive as WV can do, I guess.

(428 posts)Never mind that if he's endorsing Collins he's going directly against any notion of that happening, that's what the very smart, sensible types on here who clearly understand civics way more than I do tell me.

(7,596 posts)We tolerate this douche because he apparently votes with us "when it counts" (whatever that means), but now he's serving as a complete hindrance to his party regaining power. Fuck this guy a billion times over.
doompatrol39
(428 posts)...I was pointing out the fallacy that so many on here build their house of cards upon. "We need to be nice to him and not primary him because he'll vote for Majority Leader Schumer!!!" but then he turns around and supports a Republican for Senate when every Democratic member counts.
And it's even more galling because it's not even like it's the other Senator from his home state or even his region.

(14,176 posts)He will switch parties in exchange for next to nothing from McConnell
doompatrol39
(428 posts)...but don't tell that to the Guardians of Discourse on here, who'd much rather attack people who might be slightly to the left for even the most milquetoast, mild criticisms of anyone in the Democratic party.

(7,596 posts)Incidentally, he was also the only so-called Dem to vote for Rapey Brett. Sexual assault enablers of a feather stick together.
Did any of his constituents seriously want him to weigh in on this? What a totally pointless move.

I dont get the value of this stunt.

I don't think it will work for her this time though

(3,433 posts)... but why would he try to stay in the minority? I don't see how it helps him at all.

(29,718 posts)Is he that valuable? He rarely ever votes with us. At least we would know who the enemy is.

(68,582 posts)no policy and no judges. Without him the ACA would be over ( my kid would be dead) for over a year, look at the Senate map for a dose of reality.

(68,582 posts)Maybe she might want to concentrate on her own district. I like her and want to see her win reelection and not face a primary.
WhiteTara
(29,718 posts)it wasn't really the right place. Why not put it somewhere it would benefit the community; rather than the other way around. But hey, I don't live there and I hope she is able to work for her constituents and help steer the ship of state to the side of life.
Demsrule86
(68,582 posts)This was posted before. Without Manchin vote the ACA would be gone. This is deceptive. You left off the date. Check out the Senate map..no chance at majority without senators like Manchin.
