Bush Jr was greed, criminality and hypocrisy wrapped up in a more palatable veneer than Trump. He set the playbook for Trump to steal our election. Will never forget Bush v Gore, worst Supreme Court decision in my lifetime.

unfortunately it took W six years. If he had picked another person as Veep he would have been another Gerald Ford type, imho. After the Dems kicked ass in the last midterms of his administration he kicked Cheney to the curb and brought in some noncrazy assholes like Robert Gates. If Cheney hadn't been there and it had been Gates instead of Rumsfeld it would have been less catastrophic.....maybe

6 years didn't make him any less of a war criminal.

to the likes of Cheney. If he had picked a different group of dickheads (Baker, Gates) from the get go the whole world might be different. Six years into his administration he started listening to that crowd. Didn't say it washed away his sins.

and the fact that we either didn't impeach those war criminals, or bring them up on charges of war crimes has contributed to the belief on the part of certain politicians that they can get away with anything..and why letting Trump get away with his crimes will continue the destruction of our democracy.

Dubya I's unnecessary and politically motivated Iraq War should never be forgotten. Bush Junior and Rove stampeded the country into Iraq during an election year, using the war as an issue. It was unbelievably low. And Bush Junior was the "decider" who decided to initiate the war itself. That war tore the Middle East apart, in part creating Al Quaeda in Iraq. Later AQI became ISIS. ISIS was a leading cause of terrorist attacks and mass refugee migration. In turn, that strengthened the paranoid white nationalism we are seeing. That gave birth to Trumpism and Brexitism among other maladies.
