Lawmakers to see empty chair, not AG Barr, at House hearing

WASHINGTON (AP) — Attorney General William Barr plans to skip a House Judiciary hearing Thursday on special counsel Robert Mueller’s report , escalating an already acrimonious battle between Democrats and the Justice Department.

Barr’s decision — he cites a disagreement over the questioning — came the day the department missed a committee deadline to provide the panel with a full, unredacted version of Mueller’s Russia report and its underlying evidence. Those moves are likely to prompt a vote on holding Barr in contempt and possibly the issuance of subpoenas, bringing House Democrats and the Trump administration closer to a prolonged battle in court.

Even though Barr informed the panel he isn’t coming, Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler said he will still convene the hearing, raising the prospect of an empty witness chair.

“I hope and expect the attorney general will think overnight and will be there as well,” Nadler said.

Republicans have objected to Nadler’s demands and say the staff questioning is unnecessary. They argue that Democrats are trying to have impeachment hearings without going through the official process of impeachment.

“Chairman Nadler sabotaged his own hearing,” Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., said after Barr canceled. “That’s sad. Because now Republicans and Democrats are not going to be able to question Bill Barr.”


First maybe the supporters ( republicans ) that are objecting, maybe they should go back and take the time, and look at the tapes of legal counsel questioning Watergate criminals, instead of trying to get Koch money to further this BS................

Second, Hey Collins, first your an ass, complete ass, your party AG lied to Congress, and even went so far to say that your fucking traitor president can just shut down any investigations that he see's fit, and also your parties senate assholes, did absolutely nothing in objecting to what Barr was saying...................that basically Mueller , the same "guy" that was appointed by your republican colleges and democrat's to find out if a foreign power attacked the 2016 elections, and they said nothing, except that the chairman of the committee said that your fucking party is going to find out with special prosecutor, to go after people in the FBI and CIA and find out what FISA warrants were issued...............................and Barr, your fucking guy said that they were in the process to purge people from DOJ, ......................................so what I am saying FUCK YOU, your party is nothing more than trying to prop up a despot asshole.................................who should be in jail.

That's what I got from the hearing....................what the fuck did you see.........................asshole, or were you on the phone getting foreign money to run a campaign for re-election in 2020.........................

Nadler is doing his job, what did you and your party do the last two years fucking nothing.........................
