Nothing in our system really accounts for more than half of one of the Congressional chambers just deciding the law is irrelevant, while a traitor is occupying the Presidency. As much as I like the Constitution, it's still just a piece of paper. If enough people decide it's worth about as much as toilet paper, that's what happens. We aren't quite there yet, but we've been heading there for awhile now, and we're on the brink.

Luckily, 2018 has shown that our democratic institutions aren't completely compromised, even if the Republicans have corrupted it significantly to their advantage.

However, if the Democrats become lawless, the republicans will turn into the law and order party overnight and because they have the political power, would annihilate the Democrats for doing the same thing they did.

We are in deep shit and I almost think that the Democrats are afraid to show the American people how much trouble we are really in.

Not just because of his emotional state, but because so many of the sane people that were in the administration are gone now. He's surrounded mostly by extremists, incompetents, and bigots. They'd love to see him go hyperbolic on both foreign and domestic policies, in practice as much as in ideas.

They should all be writing about how great I am" and that's when he starts to shout at them for being "rude" and comes up with gems like yesterday's "it's not the FREE press if they write things I don't like" argument.

At least for now, as the neo-fascist Republican Party has enabled him to do so. We'll still have to see if it holds up.
