I could ask so many questions. What do you think is an important question to ask that won't sound so partisan that I'm cut off?
He's been in congress awhile, and has seniority and a pinch of political power.

(10,252 posts)GOP telephone town halls are rigged, just like everything else they do. Questions are screened B4 being broadcast answered. If the Congressman, doesn't like the question, he jumps to one he likes.
But if you must ask. You don't say what committees he's on. Generally you want to ask about something that his committee is about. Otherwise ask him what he's doing to promote green jobs in his district. Or ask him about raising the minimum wage to $15/hr.

(6,797 posts)does these telephone town halls. Doesn't have the balls to stand in front of people. I listened for a bit once all I heard were compliments and softball questions. Won't do it again.

(779 posts)He was playing the tough guy, saying how he would put 25% tariffs on goods from China. The audience cheered, do they know they will be paying it, in higher prices for Washing Machines etc?

(9,291 posts)a 73 year old male tough guy doing anything is embarrassing. Why can't we just age like a normal living being and stop with the 21 year old tough guy stick. No, they just cheer on demand, they won't figure it out until they are at Lowes and need a new washer. They just enjoy theater, and being a part of something. They think he owns the limbs, but he really owns the marks.

(61,695 posts)He gets more widespread participation this way. I don't think many people show up to his town halls. It would be an hour's drive for me.
On another townhall call, he had a farmer on once with a question about trump's farm policies that were ruining his business.

(94,602 posts)President Trump promised better cheaper healthcare. Congress failed to deal with this in 2017, has failed to deal with drug costs. Republicans have had close to 10 years to come up with a solution to replace Obamacare. You're worried about costs and coverage (pre-existing conditions); what is he going to do about it?
