Go ahead and do your business, a lot of people depend on those jobs.
Instead, use the time, presence and a few extra dollars to do the face to face work that will change things.

(23,002 posts)"Just go shopping." They have bargained on Americans consumerism for SO long. Losing money bugs them. They have dick measuring contests in Forbes Magazine every year. THAT's what they really really love. Being listed as a top wealthy person in the world. They get there by re-distributing our wealth w every dollar we spend. (Make that 1.50 now, bc of the tariffs.)
I'm thinking we do whatever has the biggest impact. Save the country. We won't know what he had until it's gone, and buddy, it's on the way out the door held open by a GD IMBECILE.

(22,377 posts)already vulnerable. If people are actively boycotting states (and not just saying they're not going to visit a place they wouldn't have anyway), I encourage them to make a donation to the National Network of Abortion Funds (abortionfund.org) or to a state abortion fund in the affected state. When unions go on strike, there are strike funds to support the people not working. Donating to an abortion fund can help support people while still keeping money out of the hands of the state.

(23,138 posts)Boycotts are effective, it got Limpballs canned from tons of stations. Why would we put away this tool? We need to avoid Koch made products, Chic Filet, MyPillow, Faux, Poppa Johns Pizza, & Home Depot but buy from Costco. These are just common sense. Why would I hand $$ to my enemies and not give it to my friends instead - where possible?
As far as the people that work there, I am sure there are better places to work and unemployment is really high right now and lots of companys' are hiring. Who wouldn't be better off working for Costco than Pappa Johns? They certainly pay way more and have benefits?
I'm really surprised to see your message of giving love to rw companies' here.

(15,805 posts)In my experience, there's rarely any change that comes as the result of a reasoned discussion with the opposition. Whatever the targeted group might be, hit them where it counts, where it will have real world consequences in the one universal pain center that effects everyone... Money.

(2,611 posts)...not going to a place doesnt do much to change the place.
Also, individual boycotts dont accomplish much in the modern economy. Try getting the large production companies that favor the states involved (there are several) to bring pressure to bear, thats far more likely to have an effect. Proposing a boycott of Their next Marvel extravaganza has a better chance.

(15,805 posts)Where and how I spend my money reflects on me. My personal integrity is dearly held. It's my choice not to be associated with people who are actively engaged with activities that are diametrically opposed to my sense of fairness, equality and justice.
Support whatever best appeals to your own code, as do I.

Were all going to be sharing our country, after we succeed. Id prefer to share it with people who dont hate me.

It's just too bad that the people of the state will suffer for their elected officials' actions. Hard lessons. No sympathy from me. They have spent decades trying to make the rest of us miserable in order to lower our quality of life to more closely match theirs. So now they can enjoy their cesspool.
I wouldn't spend a dime in any of the states passing anti-women death bills.
