Letterman slams Trump as 'goon': 'I don't like this man as a president'

Former "Late Show" host David Letterman slammed President Trump as a "goon" in an interview on "Today" that will air this weekend.

“Even with other presidents that I’ve disagreed with politically, I felt like, OK, I can live with their representation, but I’m sick and tired of everybody wringing their hands about this,” Letterman said in a clip of the interview posted by Mediaite. “Let’s just settle this at the next election. Let’s just stop yacking about what a goon he is.”

He also said that he does not like Trump's presidency "as an American."

"As an American, I don’t like this man as a president of our country,” he said. "I love being an American, but I don’t feel he represents me, and I don’t like that.”

A president that truly represents them and says what they were too afraid to say.

People truly need to understand how bad these people are. We keep trying to have hope, that they aren't that bad, that they aren't patriotic.

Anyone still a republican is an enemy of western democrocies. And they should be treated as enemies of all Democrocies.

I made the mistake after they voted for McCain/Palin in 2008, made the same mistake in 2016,

I grew up just outside NY and had my fill of tRump early on. He was as obnoxious and over-exposed then as he is now. It's no surprise that New Yorkers hate him so.

While watching this clip, couldn't help but to do the comparison of the resemblance that Barron has to his father when DT was younger. Doesn't bode well for Barron, as he'll probably be a clone of his old man. Poor kid.

Not when the Russians are still lurking nearby, and up to no good.

I wish he were right. But I think we’re being naive to trust the solution to the next election.
