Opinion: Pelosi's Impeachment strategy is working perfectly

I'm putting all my faith in Nancy Pelosi's brilliant political mind. She has a strategy to take down Trump and is working it perfectly.
I agree with the following opinion from Bill Palmer:

To anyone with a with a fairly decent political IQ who’s been paying close attention, a few things have been clear from the start: 1) The midterm results dictated that Donald Trump would eventually be impeached. 2) House Democrats would have a far better chance of getting a satisfactory result from the impeachment process if they waited a bit for public sentiment to get ahead of them on it. 3) When the time came, the Democrats would begin calling for impeachment from the bottom of the food chain upward. 4) Nancy Pelosi has been banking on this all along.

Things are now falling into place by the hour. For weeks, some fringe House Democrats – far enough removed from the House leadership that they could speak up without speaking for anyone else – have been calling for impeachment. Yesterday things escalated when Donald Trump illegally ordered Don McGahn not to testify. That enraged large chunks of the public, giving a number of members of the influential House Judiciary Committee (where the impeachment process begins) enough cover to publicly call for impeachment. Now it’s reached the committee chair stage, and that’s playing out in real time.

Last night the Washington Post reported that House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler privately told Nancy Pelosi that he’s on board with an impeachment inquiry, before Nadler then publicly stated he’s deferring to Pelosi. Today, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff told the television cameras that the “case gets stronger” for impeachment, and House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings announced that “I’m getting there” on impeachment. It’s clear they’re all preparing to soon publicly call for an impeachment inquiry.

So do you really think these three key committee chairs, who are all intensely loyal to Nancy Pelosi, would be publicly committing themselves to this if she weren’t on board with it? This process of public calls for impeachment coming from the bottom-up has helped to stoke the general public’s desire for it. This means Pelosi and the Democrats can move forward with impeachment and be seen by the public as doing it at the behest of the people, as opposed to doing it for partisan reasons. That takes away Trump’s only real counterargument.

As soon as the 2018 elections ended, he started talking about what the Dems were going to do. I think he seriously underestimated the imaginative tactics employed by Trump to obstruct the Judiciary Committee. Nadler would do better to stop the talking and just issue the subpoenas. If he didn’t have a strategy to deal with witness refusal, that is on him. This was predictable. I am very disappointed in Nadler.

we hadn't already seen Pelosi say "Impeachment is off the table." regarding state torture and unjustified, illegal war.
This shrewd political gaming only serves to agitate my impatience and rage. But we all have to play the game and sit on our asses waiting for the dumbfucks to come to their senses and start paying attention. This has been the admonishment to me all my life, and it never comes to pass.

I don't think she's interested in impeachment, and I think impeachment would be more likely if she and other Dem leaders were actively supporting and pushing for it. Maybe you are going to dismiss that as too simplistic, but this whole idea that she is playing coy in order to reverse psychology everyone into supporting it seems far fetched. She did the same thing with W and we can see how that worked out. "Anyone with a fairly decent political IQ" can reason that announcing that impeachment was "off the table" and then investigating anyway didn't lead to impeachment.

This week Justin Amash became the first tea party nutjob to beat Pelosi to the reasonable stance on impeachment. Never thought I would see that happen. I wish it were more surprising. If this country doesn't make it out of the trump years it'll be because the Democratic leadership sniveled and wrung it's hands while Rome burned.

Russian coordination and obstruction did not occur.

The onus will end up being on the PUKES...why are they not taking action in the FACE of the HARD EVIDENCE?

I do trust her. I was disappointed they didn't go after Bushco. I get it, but I was disappointed. I have to believe they get the dire of today and we do have smart Democratic leaders. I also truly feel Trump is so visibly corrupt, he has to be caught. He cannot continue to get away with everything.

And the Republicans. Ryan was so bad and I believe corrupt. He walked and everyone has forgotten about him. Mitchell, Lindsey.
