This means he'd already had his license suspended for DUI eight times, which means he'd been busted on at least eight DUI charges, probably more. And each time he kept driving anyhow, and now he'd been caught a ninth time. The judge threw the book at him, but I'm sure once he got out of jail he did it again and again. Some of these guys really are hopeless.

(Sounds pretty vile, doesn't it?)
The day they get out of jail? Straight to a bar or liquor store.

(115,735 posts)Michael W. Boucher, 40, of Minneapolis, remains jailed Tuesday in connection with his eastbound vehicle hitting the shelter in the 2200 block of E. Lake Street shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
The County Attorneys Office is reviewing the case handed over by police and has until noon Wednesday to charge Boucher or release him pending further investigation.
Boucher was driving despite having his license revoked by the state, according to jail records. Court records show he has been convicted at least 12 times in Minnesota for driving without a license or after having it revoked. He has also been convicted four times for speeding and once of leaving the scene of a crash.
