Surely he knew more than what he told. Maybe they didn't ask because it wasn't within their narrow purview? The thing is though he is somewhat radioactive as a witness. All sides want to keep their distance because they are uncertain of him.

what already knew and, frankly, those things already endears Trump to his base. No deep cuts. I'm sure he knows a LOT more about money laundering, collusion, etc than he has said publicly.

He is still taking a bullet for Trump as he said he would. He's admitting to things that don't matter to republicans in order to smoke screen the truly awful...things we suspect, things we know in our hearts but no one is willing to go on the record for. He is doing this and at the same time trying to rehabilitate his image.

He is still protecting Trump from the worst scandal in our history.
