Donald Trump Is So Stupid, That He Thinks

the courts have something to say about impeachment. In his loony-toons press briefing, he said he didn't think the courts "would allow it" in reference to impeachment.

Once again, he demonstrates an almost total lack of knowledge about how our system of government operates.

The federal courts have no authority over the congressional responsibility for impeachment. None. Zip. Nada.

Trump will be in for a "bigly" surprise, if the decision to begin impeachment inquiries is made.

doubt he could even pass a US citizenship exam. He also doesn't get that when it comes to sheer innate intelligence in the US government echelons, he's at the bottom of the totem pole.

up to him, his utter incompetence. His base is even more stupid than he is, quite frankly.

This term of office will go down in history as the strangest Presidency ever to occur in the United States of America.

Unless we're incredibly stupid and don't ensure that Democrats go to the polls in historic numbers, he's not going to have a second term. I still think he will not finish this one, for several possible reasons.

Trump thinks that with the appointments of Gorsuch and Kavanaugh he owns the Supreme Court and they will do his bidding. When he was just a crooked real estate developer he used the legal system to get what he wanted because he had the resources to sue or threaten to sue, or to defend against the many lawsuits brought by the people he stiffed and cheated. He thinks he can do the same thing as president.

Not so fast, Spanky.

Just apart from the fact that his only use for the Constitution is as toilet paper, which means that he doesn't know that the courts have no jurisdiction over the impeachment process, he will be in for a shock when the Supreme Court rules against him in some other case, as they inevitably will. What he doesn't get is that judges are very protective of their function as an equal branch of government, and that judges with lifetime appointments don't owe him anything - and they know it. In fact, I can imagine his appointees thinking to themselves, if only subconsciously, "That fcker doesn't own me!" Cabinet appointees have to grovel and smile like members of Stalin's Politburo in order to keep their jobs, but federal judges don't. Trump focused almost entirely on Roe v. Wade when he decided on Supreme Court appointees as if abortion was the only issue the court was ever going to consider. But the "conservative" judges aren't going to hand Trump everything he wants. Far from it. The only thing an originalist judge like Gorsuch is likely to hand Trump is his ass if the court hears those subpoena cases.

And what will Trump tweet when the Supreme Court rules against him in some case? He'll be enraged. He'll call those justices "low intelligence," weak and disloyal. He'll threaten to fire them, which of course he can't. It will be great fun to watch.

So it'll cost the govt millions to go to court to have them say that Congress can impeach.

He won't be removed from office. And it takes time to impeach. The investigations will continue, impeachment hearing will start. He'll sue immediately, before impeachment vote. The court will stay the impeachment until it can hear arguments.

Even if it were after the impeachment vote in the House, he'll still be President. Only the Senate can remove him from office. And they won't.

The House impeachment will be on paper only, for historical purposes. Like Bill Clinton's was.

And I suppose he figures if he can keep his ignorant supporters thinking that every move against him is somehow illegitimate, he might be able to undermine the process. So much of what he does seems designed to throw the legitimacy of the system itself into question--which of course pays huge dividends on putin's investment in his campaign, whether it winds up saving trump or not. Ugh.
