Republicans ain't what they used to be.
They are moral cowards who look out for #1 instead of the people they represent and their country.

And they were into developing their anti-everything chants.

It is easy to think of the Eisenhower years as being one of complacency and conviviality.

While Eisenhower was probably decent, he was steam-rolled by politicos with agendas. Lobbyists with payola.

Nixon and McCarthy were given power to change the discourse.

The MIPL complex really established its stranglehold on foreign policy/affairs and "wars".

JFK only won the election because Nixon was so incredibly unprepared.

Probably not since the first president I can actually remember was Reagan.

Trying to think of who that might be?

Maybe Jerry Ford? Everett Dirksen and Charles Halleck from the 50s?

Who ever they were, they seem to have always been out manned by those who put the party and themselves first.
