(2,229 posts)That is exactly how you encourage/teach little ones to have a back and forth conversation. They learn the non-verbal rules and actions and then add in the words later.
Just adorable!
His dad is teaching him how to converse. It's just beautiful.
My youngest came along 10 years after his brother. He picked up "conversation" quite quickly as a result. The first Christmas picture, the boys were 10 and 4 months. The photographer was doing the babble stuff to try to get baby to smile. He started answering her back with "ahs" and "ohs." She was laughing hysterically, got him laughing and we got the shot!

(4,919 posts)One of my earliest emotional memories was me being extremely eager (jealous) to have adult conversations... Whenever I saw my parents or teachers discuss something amongst themselves... I wanted to be a part of it... I'd remember interrupting conversations between adults with something silly like broken crayons, or to show off a toy car... Just to be a part of their world.
This video is amazing... That kid is learning how to socialize, talk with his hands (which for some reason I do not do myself)... This young guy will be super eloquent in the near future. An amazing young father!!
Thanks for sharing!
