Walmart on Friday announced a new service that will deliver groceries inside customers' residences, even when they're not home.
The largest grocer in the U.S. said it would be rolling out in-home delivery this fall for more than 1 million customers in three cities: Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Mo., and Vero Beach, Fla., the Associated Press reported.
Customers will be able to place their orders online and select a delivery option and date. A Walmart employee will then bring the groceries inside the residence and place them in the fridge.
Walmart said shoppers will be able to control access to their house and watch the delivery remotely, as workers will use smart entry technology and wear cameras.
The service follows a similar in-home delivery option for Amazon Prime members, with a price tag that starts at $250.

(26,289 posts)The store employee might be wearing a camera, but what about the person who slips in, behind them. (Admittedly, I watch a WHOLE LOT of true crime TV shows so my brain goes to the worst case scenario.)

I suspect they are nice folks,
but I'd not want them in my place when I am not home.
