Republicans, and Trump himself, love playing the victim and acting like they're the target of a Democratic Party/"Deep State" so-called witch hunt led by people who hate Trump because he beat "Crooked Hillary Clinton" or whatever bullshit narrative that's politically convenient for them. And I am pretty damn sure that the FOX mouthpieces for Trump like Hannity, Ingraham, and Carlson along with Trump himself will make sure that their TRUMP IS A VICTIM narrative from here all the way out to November 2020 stays in the news.

Also, they will make the argument (they already are) that the actions of Democrats and the media, the FBI, intelligence agencies ("the Deep State" ) ever since Trump was elected have all been aimed at undermining Trump's 2016 victory. They will say that the choice of millions of voters, Trump voters, is being undermined and "stolen" from them by Trump's enemies in the "Establishment."

I think this strategy just MIGHT work for them next year. I really, really, really hope I'm wrong.
