The American Civil War never ended.

The philosophy of the pre-Civil War South never went away.

It spread.

It was about racism, bigotry, and the "Other."

And, in most cases, hatred.

It's still here.

And it ain't gonna' stop.

Trump has played on it, pushed it, and made it worse than ever.

So what do we do?

Beat him in 2020?

Beat every Republican in 2020?

And then, make the world a better place?

Will it happen?

I don't know.

But America needs to be repaired from the incredible damage that's been done.

As big a task lies before us as that which the Founding Fathers faced.

And they pledged their fortunes and their very lives for freedom. America exists because of them.
