The bad news is it's a closed door hearing.

(172 posts)That should really get the word out to the public of what happened----face palm. As someone who was alive during the Nixon hearings they were must watch for the entire country. This behind closed doors accomplishes nothing to educate the country on what took place and is basically useless. The media wont be in their either. This is a kabuki theater of trying to look like your doing something.

(18,486 posts)It's to gather information. That's what they're doing.
But, that said, the information will be on the record and under oath and, I believe, pretty quickly released to the public, so if people really want to know what she has to say, they will know it.
In fact, that "kabuki theater" is more likely to happen if her testimony turns into a tv show, which it surely will if it's televised - what she's wearing, how her voice sounded, what's with her makeup, etc.
I'm much more interested in hearing what she has to say than in watching her say it.

(7,432 posts)indignation, but when it comes to acting as if THEY are in control and in charge, they wimp out. Will there be ANY principles who will testify in public? Why are the Dems always backing away from well-deserved confrontations? Hicks, McGahn, Mnuchin, and others all should be testifying IN PUBLIC. Hiding the interviews is exactly what Trumpy wants.

(18,486 posts)And if getting the information they need to move forward means that the crowds don't get to watch the spectacle they demand, so be it.
If people are really interested in Congress getting to the bottom of this, they'll stop complaining that they can't be in the room to watch them do it at every second.
Hope Hicks is going to testify to them under oath and on the record. They're going to release the transcript to the public. This may be disappointing to people who see this as some form of entertainment, but it is what it is.
