That he just fucked up and got the man killed. All it would take is an offhand remark for something that only the brother would know. Trump is the kind of braggart that loves showing off how much he thinks he knows.

ie "Hey Kim, my people tell me you used to wet the bed when you were little"

Kim Jong Un's half brother was murdered in February 2017, less than a month after Trump took office. I doubt Trump even knew who where North Korea was or who its leader was at that point. Trump only began ranting about North Korea in November 2017 and didn't start falling in love with Kim Jong Un until 2018.
