First off, it's ugly. Secondly, the present design was commissioned by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy and designed by the GREAT Raymond Loewy!

...and the paint scheme displays elegance. The elegance of Jacqueline Kennedy.

His planned re-paint is gaudy, gross and and just plain ugly (like the present FL).
