(37,449 posts)its about 18th century European military & Rev. War history. All were females, similar poses and all using some American City. Little or no information in the pages and no timeline. I've blocked them all and then I blocked any ip's that came from Russia. On Fb you can do it and it has stopped.

(34,136 posts)In one pic of a man with glasses, on the left side the metallic surface of the glasses is rendered on his ear and part of his cheek while that side of his glasses seem to be missing.
On a picture of a young girl, the pink of her jacket also show up on her chin and in her hair - and as if it were reflection of the color.
On a picture of a young woman the earring on her left ear is missing on her right but there are some artifacts that make that earlobe look odd.
Very often ears are rendered oddly - one shot the man's right ear seems to be missing but three is a strange furry area there.

(34,136 posts)But this, with the ability to fake photos and video, worries me about what we will see in the future. Today, MSNBC was showing videos of one of their reporters "dubbed" into videos of various awards programs. Unless the original was side by side (as they showed it in part) I would never have known they were faked. Of course, part of that was that they were subbing her for people I don't know very well - plus I am somewhat face blind and have trouble recognizing faces anyway.
I guess it will all go back to the mantra that you HAVE to trust the source - but what happens when reliable sources are fooled?

(4,919 posts)So the fake can't be compared to an original video...
Here is an article you might enjoy... The video is amazing, especially at the end where you can see fake videos of Einstein, Dali, and the Mona Lisa.

(34,136 posts)But I had not seen the variation of using three different source models - that is interesting. The videos they showed this morning had a reporter who greatly resembled the two performers they "played" her on top of.

(7,809 posts)that I couldn't possibly have any connection to. Why the hell would a sophomore math major in Ohio be asking to connect with a semi-retired Nevada woman in her 60s?
