This has been one of the worst springs ever. Even the leaves on the trees came out late this year. Last weekend was our first really nice weekend this year. Now it's 60 and raining again.
Has it been the same where you live?

(26,263 posts)We had heavy rain earlier this week, and again, last night and today. It was 72, yesterday. Today it's not even 60. I was checking the veg garden, yesterday, and saw hardly ANY progress, at all. Also mowed my back lot, and found pools of standing water. That usually ends by the first part of May.
The only positive side to cooler temps is, the flowers seem to have longer lasting blooms.

(2,221 posts)Here in central Ohio. Low 60s, thunder storms this morn-the grands swim lessons were canceled. Swim meet last night called early due to torrential rain and low temps-the kids were too cold to swim. Weve had some nice sunny days here and there but I think its been more chilly and rainy than usual. Still waiting for my lovely warm summer weather to appear!

(32,000 posts)My garden was the latest to get in as I can remember. The back of my yard is still too soggy to get a mower across. I think in May we had something like six days where it didn't rain. It's like you have to hurry up and get all your outdoor stuff done when it doesn't rain, because two days in a row is about all the dry days you get here.
And, of course, it's raining again today!

(21,849 posts)I think it brightened up in the last 30 minutes or so here in Brooklyn but it has been coming down pretty hard since at least 8:30 or so.

(25,183 posts)and we have some rain today (a half hour away from NYC), while we had quite a bit two days ago, but yesterday was a very pleasant day. I hear that my neighborhood in SC has gotten torrential rains, but when I left, we were nearly at drought conditions, so they needed it there.

(3,427 posts)I sympathize with you, though. We've endured some years when it seemed to rain almost every day until June. Last month, most of our rain went down to California, and we enjoyed unusually warm, dry weather up here.
