I do want to.return to the past

I have been thinking and I want to return to the tax code as it existed before Reagan.

No one talks about the deferred compensation arrangements he established, incentivizing corporate executives to shift from investing in labor and capital towards driving up equities. It isn't a coincidence that before Reagan stock prices were stagnant, and after that all growth in GDP was reflected in stock values.

Who owns stocks?

This combined with massive tax cuts for the obscenely wealthy has fleeced the middle class. Many of those who were fleeced most by Reagan adore him to this day

I too want to return to a time when we had a President who was not only a decent man, but decent to others.

When alliances were built with other nations, not torn down.

When empathy towards others was what government was to be about, giving a hand up.

When people could talk with one another civil and still be friends.

Back to a time when the word of the United States meant something.

I want us to return to being decent, diplomatic, empathetic, pro-active when dealing with important issues.

Am I asking for too much?????? I do not think so.

Joe Biden Said He Did Not View Abortion ‘As a Choice and a Right’ in 2006
By Stephanie Saul
June 13, 2019

In a newly unearthed video from 2006, Joseph R. Biden Jr. said he supported Roe v. Wade but did not view abortion as “a choice and a right” — remarks that raise further questions about how he views abortion rights as he runs for the Democratic presidential nomination and faces pressure over his position on the issue.

“I do not view abortion as a choice and a right. I think it’s always a tragedy,” Mr. Biden said in a videotaped interview with Texas Monthly, resurfaced on Thursday by CNN. “I think it should be rare and safe,” he added. “I think we should be focusing on how to limit the number of abortions.”
