As head of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, Neal is the only Democrat in Congress empowered to demand that the Treasury Secretary provide him with the tax returns of any filer.

He tailored the April 3 request for success in an eventual court battle. That lawsuit has not yet been filed ...

On January 31, 2017, the White House announced that President Donald Trump intended to nominate Engel to serve as the Assistant Attorney General heading the Office of Legal Counsel. Engel's nomination was opposed by U.S. Senator John McCain, a former prisoner of war who was tortured while in captivity. McCain cited Engel's involvement in commenting on and reviewing one of the so-called "Torture memos" that signed off on six different "enhanced interrogation techniques". Not once has he ever given a second thought to what's good for this country - as has been said, it's all about him, which he proves over and over every single day. His malfeasance will someday fill volumes, yet we may never know it all.

Besides, Trump has never provided the IRS letter stating that those particular returns are going to be audited.

We have a crime family in charge of our country, one who believes the rule of law does not apply to them.
