(15,647 posts)It occurs to me that the reason they consistently project their own disgusting behavior and flaws is thats all they know; thats how they view their world; they are blind to the absence of those flaws in others and, accordingly as well as mistakenly, assume we all share them. That we are all the same. They assume we are all haters just like them, just as they assume we are all greedy and out for ourselves just like them. And its these imperfect assumptions that help them feel good about themselves and even righteous.
Just thinking out loud here this early Saturday morning.

(16,786 posts)For it is they who are the haters.
Trump hates everything this country stands for. The rule of law, honesty, integrity, responsibility. He hates being controlled by that pesky piece of paper called the US Constitution.

(58,785 posts)The right's accusations of left-wing hate have sadly become all too real, though not their claims of being innocent victims of course. Virtually all the best hard-core haters are strong conservatives, and it started with them. I remember the post-Reagan years when we were still asking ourselves why do they hate us so much and naively offering facts and reason to persuade them in civic discussions.
In any case, we have become infected by their hate, and refusing to lower ourselves to reflect the worst of them back is only one of some very good reasons to engage intellect and principles and say a big no to that.
You know, fwiw, I've always suspected Trump is far too self involved and narcissistic, and not hard-core social conservative enough, to be a really good hater. After all, it requires both intense, sustained focus on others, instead of himself, and, where people are involved, that equalization. Though perhaps he's become driven to it more and more, the flailing rages he is extremely prone to become focused?

(31,834 posts)It still assigns humanity to MF45.
I don't assign humanity to it. It's too wet to step on and too low to kick. Like a maggot. Which makes me far more problematic than a Trump hater.

(11,364 posts)I hate and despise this vile man more than I have ever hated any living human being in my entire life. (I'm 69.) I am PROUD to hate him! Had I been alive in the 40s I would have hated Hitler too.

(16,847 posts)Honestly, it's hard not to hate him unless you're sick in the head. He's the Abomination of Desolation.

(15,242 posts)Please include a variety of authoritarian dictator murderers such as Stalin, Hitler, and Pol Pot. Trump is in a new category Con Man wannabe Dictator empowered to lie about everything. He is as dangerous as full blown genocidal murderers so far on a much smaller scale. Please include every Trump apologist and Trump supporter. A rather large tent of hate.

(6,556 posts)My family tRumpies have gone strangely silent over the past few weeks. Their Facebook pages no longer have tRump support memes and rants. They are now posting family oriented pictures and memes and even a few cat memes. I find this a positive sign as these people were/ are rabid tRump supporters.
Could there be a light breaking through the dark tRump tunnel?

(10,252 posts)As a Buddhist, I don't hate anyone. Not even Trump. Hatred is poison. Trump's mind is clouded with dark delusions. I do however recognize, based on his words and behavior, that he is a sorely moral degenerate, a criminal, and a traitor. Justice is a virtue, and he needs to be impeached, removed, prosecuted, judged, and punished for his crimes.

(6,193 posts)I do know what he is, and the threat he poses to the nation.
He is, essentially, a foul beast.
It seems that everything he touches is corrupted by the Trump taint.
He identifies with the most despicable leaders around the world, and defames our allies.
As the country's biggest fake, or should I say the world's biggest fake, he projects all of his shortcomings onto those he sees as enemies.
Nothing about him genuine, except his foulness.
The man has no love in his heart.
I name him as "The Father of Lies", and he is worshiped by his base as if he is some sort of god.
You can take that description of Trump any way you want, but be certain, we are in a fight for the very soul of this nation.
A warning though, hate is all consuming. To hate Trump is to play his game at his level. It is inherently self destructive, and encourages hate in response.
We need to have the strength to face down this beast and his base and stand for truth and justice.
It won't be easy, but it must be done.
Together we have the strength to end his reign of "terror" before the real terror of 4 more years happens.
